Art in isolation

With art galleries closed across the country earlier this year, artists had to find other outlets to show and sell their work.

Online arts hub Artaviso organised a digital exhibition for Australian artists, “Door to Door (Art in the time of COVID-19)”.

Participating artists were provided with a random page from Newnes’ Pictorial Knowledge 1950’s Encyclopedia (edited by Enid Blyton) and asked to use it as inspiration for an A4-sized unframed artwork. The virtual exhibition, with a wide variety of mediums and styles, now holds almost 200 works and is still growing.
