Local organisations that work in the arts are invited to apply for funding under a new round of arts and culture grants from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. The funding is part of the Regional Arts and Cultural Investment Program (RACIP), which provides support to the vibrant culture and arts sector in Western Australia’s regional areas.
The RACIP will provide almost $20 million over four years through three funding streams:
- The Leveraged Creative and Cultural Planning program offers up to $50,000 to local governments to develop a creative and cultural plan, or revise an existing plan. Up to $25,000 is available to local governments to implement arts and cultural activities already identified in a creative and cultural plan.
- The Community Participation and Inclusion Program has up to $80,000 for organisations, individuals and groups to deliver activities that support access to, and participation in, arts and culture for people from diverse backgrounds in regional WA.
- The Regional and Remote Festivals Fund offers up to $50,000 to support arts and cultural activities at regional and remote festivals. The funding can assist with expenses such as travel, accommodation, salary, equipment hire or community engagement activities as part of a festival.
All three programs close on September 9, 2021, for activity starting on or after January 1, 2022. Find out more here: dlgsc.wa.gov.au
