Mental Health Week

WA Mental Health Week is celebrated in October each year, and there is a week full of activities in Hedland from 11 to 15 October to mark the event and promote mental wellbeing in our community.

This year’s theme – “Mental health starts with our children” – recognises that a person’s mental health reflects the interactions of a lifetime of individual and lifestyle factors.

A highlight of the week is a Mental Health and Wellbeing Expo on Friday 15 October at Marquee Park. This is a chance to come along and meet the people behind local mental health support services and find out more about what is on offer.

The expo includes a dodgeball tournament to end the week with a bit of light-hearted fun and exercise. You can nominate a team before the day. Each dodgeball team has eight players and two subs. The competition will be played as a knockout and prizes are on offer!

Forward your nomination form to kesi-maree.prior@health.wa.gov.au or call 0455 114 337 for more information.

Other events are running throughout the week, including activities for young people, mums, men and carers. Check out the flyer below for full details of events. You can also download the flyer here.
